Speedpass Network Donates $10,000 to Ronald McDonald Houses in the Chicago Area
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 2004--As part of the holiday-focused "Share A Night" campaign sponsored by Ronald McDonald Houses of Chicagoland, Speedpass Network, a venture of Exxon Mobil Corporation, has donated $10,000 to the three Ronald McDonald Houses in the Chicago area.
Speedpass Network pledged to make a contribution to the Ronald McDonald Houses every time a customer used a Speedpass(TM) to make a purchase at participating Exxon, Mobil or McDonald's locations in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana in November and December.
"Speedpass Network and ExxonMobil have been great supporters of Ronald McDonald House," said Mary Agnes Murphy, house manager, Ronald McDonald House. "This donation will be used to continue to provide much-needed housing for the parents of children who are hospitalized in the Chicago area."
"We are extremely pleased to have had the opportunity to be a part of this worthwhile program that directly benefits the health and welfare of children," said Tony Turchi, president, Speedpass Network. "The Ronald McDonald Houses make a significant impact on so many young lives every day."
The Ronald McDonald Houses, each a non-profit 501(c)3 charity, provide temporary housing in a home-like environment for families whose children are receiving care at nearby hospitals. With 235 Houses in 23 countries, Chicago is proudly one of the only cities to support three Houses. The three Chicagoland Ronald McDonald Houses welcome up to 58 families every night of the year, and have together helped over 30,000 families to date.
