ExxonMobil Launches Improved Proprietary Credit Cards; Cards Will Have Zero Credit Card Fraud Liability and a Bold New Design

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 17, 2005--ExxonMobil and GE Consumer Finance today announced the launch of new ExxonMobil Consumer and Business Credit Cards. The new cards will provide enhanced cardholder benefits that deliver improved credit card security and flexibility. GE Consumer Finance will issue new cards to over 7 million current ExxonMobil cardholders.

    The new ExxonMobil Consumer and Business cards will:

    --  Incorporate new and enhanced fraud deterrent technology

    --  Provide cardholders a choice of payment dates, and

    --  Incorporate a standardized 16-digit account number.

The ExxonMobil Consumer Credit Card will also feature a zero credit card fraud liability that fully protects cardholders in the event their card is lost or stolen.

As with the current ExxonMobil cards, Consumer and Business cardholders can choose to link their cards to a free Speedpass(TM) key tag for an even faster and more convenient way to pay.

In addition to launching the upgraded cards to all existing ExxonMobil Credit Cardholders, GE Consumer Finance will team up with ExxonMobil on a major integrated marketing campaign to attract new ExxonMobil credit card customers. Beginning in March and running through the end of May, new accountholders will receive a $10 statement credit after their first use of the card.

The offer will be heavily promoted at ExxonMobil's 14,000-plus retail locations with enhanced on-site advertising and through a variety of other marketing channels.
