ExxonMobil and Hamon Research-Cottrell Sign a License and Sublicensing Agreement for ExxonMobil's State-of-the-Art FCCU Emissions Control Technology
ExxonMobil's Wet Gas Scrubbing technology allows refiners to reliably meet Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) particulate and SOx emission targets with a well-proven technology. Wet Gas Scrubbing removes particulates and SO2 by scrubbing them from the FCCU flue gas stream through contact with a water based liquid in a venturi system. After separation from the scrubbing liquid, the clean flue gas is vented to the atmosphere and the liquid is further processed to dispose of the particulates in an environmentally acceptable manner. The Wet Gas Scrubbing system needs a very small onsite plot space allowing for flexible placement.
Wet Gas Scrubbing can be retrofitted into all full-burn and partial-burn FCCs, even those with first generation CO boilers and/or those operating at very low flue gas pressure. ExxonMobil's Wet Gas Scrubbing can be designed to operate at the lowest pressure drop of any commercial scrubber.
